What is an Oblate?

Oblature

These are lay people eager to live their baptismal vocation following the apostle John and who feel called to live in the world with the same charism as the brothers and sisters by committing themselves to the secular oblature. They are then linked to a priory of their choice where they find welcome and support. The Oblates have a commitment to prayer, to listening to the word of God and to fraternal charity. They give apostolic witness in the context of their respective family, parish, social or political responsibilities. They have a commitment to prayer, to listening to the word of God and to fraternal charity.
