The Brothers of Saint John have been present in Quebec since 1996, when Monsignor Valois, then bishop, asked us to found a priory. When the brothers arrived in Quebec, Monsignor Valois gave them the pastoral responsibility for the Parish of Saint-Pierre in Saint-JĂ©rĂŽme. In 2010, at the request of Monsignor Morissette, who wanted the brothers to take on responsibilities for parishes in Terrebonne, the community moved to the presbytery of the Parish of Saint-Louis in Terrebonne. And so, whilst maintaining their presence in the Parish of Saint-Pierre, the brothers are now engaged in pastoral work in the parishes in Terrebonne.
With their particular charism, in continuity with and respect for everything that had been set up before their arrival, and in strict collaboration with the existing committees in the parish and in the area of Saint-JĂ©rĂŽme, the Brothers wish to offer their own charism to all those who feel called to participate in it.
The brothers serve a number of Terrebonne parishes at the Church of St-Louis de France, and for the diocese of Saint-JĂ©rĂŽme they serve the churches of St Charles Borromeo and St Jean Baptiste.
Apostolic activities
The Brothers of Saint John offer a variety of activities, such as family summer camps as well as several family days throughout the year. They also offer instruction and teaching through the School of Saint John, as well as an annual spiritual retreat.
