The 80 sisters who currently make up the community of the Contemplative Sisters of St. John have chosen to cooperate with the Church authorities and to implement the reforms requested during the crisis of 2009-2014. Since this difficult time, the sisters have been engaged in a work of reconstruction (see history of the Family of Saint John). To support this important and necessary process, they have been calling for external help for several years, in particular men and women religious from other congregations. It is above all prayer that is at the heart of the life of the contemplative sisters. They live their consecration to God in silence and solitude, but also in fraternal charity. Because, as Saint John says, “whoever does not love his brother whom he sees cannot love God whom he does not see” (1 Jn 4:20). This is why the sisters live a common life of sharing, service and cooperation. By their prayer they carry the apostolate of their apostolic brothers and sisters in particular. The community has more than 80 sisters, coming from a dozen nationalities. They are divided into 10 priories.
